Preview of the New Blue Steel Backing

If you got the Zoolander reference, congratulations, we can be friends. If you didn’t, we suggest you rent the movie ASAP, now back to the seats. Over the past couple weeks we’ve been slowly releasing new STÄTUS exclusive seat backs. We are the only ones who offer anything like this in the industry. We’ve released the hexagonal carbon, that people fell in love with. Then we blew their minds with our first colored carbon, they sold the day we got them. Now we are really outdoing ourselves by teasing you with a sexy, fresh, blue carbon, that is sure to turn heads. With the color options of fabric and stitching we have too, the possibilities are endless.

Speaking of fabric and stitching, if you saw the photo shoot we did of the hexagonal (honeycomb) carbon. You may have noticed and upgrade that hasn’t been available until now. You can get the STÄTUS logo stitched one color and then have the outlining be a different color. The other icon upgrade you can get is having the STÄTUS logo be stitched on the back of the seat (Scroll to see pictures of both options). Both of those upgrade are through our icon program.

For more information on the blue, red, or hexagonal carbon seats or the icon options, email Tell us what you think of the new blue colored carbon in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Honeycomb Carbon Install Pics

One of Vivid Racing’s sales guys bought the first pair of hexagonal, or honeycombed, backed Status seats for his Honda. He bought them with two-tone ultra suede and custom bright green stitching. He got them just in time for the Eibach Honda Meet. Before we put them in his car, we put them in the GT-R project car that Vivid has. It was a quick shoot because they were on their way to Eibach Honda Meet, but here are the picture from the GT-R shoot, some from the Eibach Honda Meet and others from a recent shoot we did.

We will be getting our first set of red colored carbon backed seats in soon. We will be doing a more extensive shoot with those and maybe another shoot with the hexagonal back, who knows. What do you think of the new Honeycombed carbon? Tell us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

More Weekend Racers can be FIA Approved

All medium-husky weekend racers can now celebrate! We are excited to announce that our STÄTUS Ring GT-X with the carbon fiber backing has been FIA approved. Until now, we could only offer one type of STATUS seat to those looking for an FIA approved racing seat. The first seat to get approved was our STATUS Ring seat with FRP backing. One of the best parts about STÄTUS seats is the customization opportunities. Each seat is made to order, so it can be tailored to fit any unique or outlandish interiors. STATUS is perpetually inspired by those who push the creative limits with their interior. Now we have something else to offer those who want to be creative and have an FIA approved seat.

The Ring GT-X normally fits a 36 inch waists; however, we have seen people with 32 inch say they barely fit and people with 38 say it fits perfectly. It is all about how you like your fitment.  We do intend to move forward and get other STATUS seats approved, but the approval process takes time and money. In addition to two FIA Approved seats, we also offer 5 and 6pt harnesses that are FIA approved. Get the perfect setup for your ride by using our online seat configurator. We pioneered the configurator to help people to see, share and order, the exact seats they want. We also have a new program that will get a free pair of Status Ring seats in your car without paying a dime.

Here are some videos and picture of the seats being tested. If you have questions about the GT-X or any of our other seats email us at or find us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

(NOTE: The FIA approval is only for GT-X with the regular carbon fiber backing and does not include the color or WASP (hexagonal) carbon.)

New Colored Carbon Backing Released

As promised, we are now offering a red colored carbon. We showed you a preview of it with the hexagonal carbon, but it is now available for purchase. This red carbon has an almost burgundy tint to it, that gives it more distinction. The look is something no one else is offering. If you have a white or black Porsche or Mercedes, this colored carbon backing with some white diamond stitching, on cream leather would be amazing. It would be the perfect contrast, that sets your interior apart from all other cars.

Here are the pictures of the first set of backing’s we have made. We will wait for the seats to come in and do the install pics later as well. If you want a pair of STÄTUS seats, but they’re a little out of your price range, check out our latest sponsorship program. Tell us what car or seat combination you would create with this new colored carbon backing on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.

Lambo and Camaro get similar STÄTUS Seats

These are two different customers who built their custom STÄTUS seats separatly, however, they are strikingly similar. One owner is putting his leather, ultra suede combination with custom diamond stitching, in his Camaro ZL 770. The other unique thing that this STÄTUS customer chose to do is stitch his logo into the top of the seat like you see below. The other set of ultra suede with custom diamond stitching will be going in an incredible Lamborghini Gallardo. Here are the amazing custom seats. We will update you will install pics once they get them.

New Color Carbon and Hexagonal Backing

A couple weeks ago we announced that we have a new backing available, and would be releasing more backs and other pictures of the hexagonal backing. Our first seat came out of production with the new backing and it looks sick! We are so excited to offer not only our FRP and carbon backing but now a colored carbon and a hexagonal designed backs. The hexagonal backing looks so unique and aggressive on the seat, we can’t wait to see the red carbon on an actual seat. It’s going to give your car that pop of color that no other car has. We are the only one’s on the market offering this range of customization options and this many different types of backing. Once these seats make their way to us, we will be releasing install pictures that will make you melt.

These seats are no joke, if you want to step your game up and be a real STÄTUS symbol, email and get your custom order in today! We are still taking votes of what car to install the new seat backs in. What car would you like to see the hexagonal and red carbon backing in? Texas Chainsaw, meets STÄTUS Racing

This customer is an avid Facebook fan, so when he sent us pictures of his ride’s unique photo shoot, we knew we had to blog it. We love photos like these, because it tells a story. Looking through these pictures made me think of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie. The photographer does a great job of carrying the peculiar theme throughout the entire shoot. The black seat with the red harness,  takes on a personality of it’s own. The first picture is of the STÄTUS seat lit by the sunset. You can image a person sitting there waiting for night to fall. The hodgepodge look of the car is an uncanny resemblance of the skin quilt Ed Gein wore in the movie. Enough about our take on this amazingly artistic and eerie shoot, what do you think? Tell us on Facebook or Instagram @thestatusracing.

Special Shoutout to Alan Codebecq for the pictures and I’m a Photographer, Not a Terrorist for their artist shoot.

Sneak Peek of new STÄTUS backing

The idea behind the name STÄTUS is that every car that has a set of our seats, becomes a STÄTUS symbol. People who buy STÄTUS are trailblazers in the tuning industry. We make our seats completely customizable so you can make your seats, as unique as your car. As we grow, we always push the limits and go to the creative edge to please our customers. Today we are proud to announce that we demolished the limit and leaped over the creative edge. Without further adieu, here is the newest STÄTUS Racing Carbon Fiber backing.

There was some fallout when we announced that we had a limited number of Kevlar seat backs left. What we didn’t make clear, was we were already in the process of upgrading and expanding the different type of backings we offer. We have been looking and testing different styles of fabric. The only way to expand as a company is find out what works and what doesn’t. The kevlar got a lot of hype but not a lot of sales. We hope that if our STÄTUS family likes our new carbon fiber backings, they’ll invest in a set of their own. The seats we sell tell us what people like and don’t like. We are really excited to be the only company to offer such a one-of-a-kind carbon fiber backing.

To make your own custom STÄTUS Racing Seats check out our online configurator. We envision this hexagonal, carbon fiber backing, in a black or white C63, a gray GT-R, or in a super sexy gunmetal lambo. What kind of car do you see them in? Win a set of STÄTUS stickers by telling us what kind of car you would put these in. Feel free to add what kind of fabric, stitching and color seats you would install with the new backing. Tell us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram @thestatusracing.

Agency Power helps STÄTUS get into Mercedes C-Class

STÄTUS wants to be in every performance and car enthusiast’s car that we can. This was a goal we weren’t able to  accomplish for the simple fact that one of the most popular performance cars was unequipped to hold STÄTUS seats. Mercedes makes their seats in such a way that the OEM seat-belt buckle is a part of the seat. When you remove the seat, you remove the buckle. STÄTUS, being a company that primarily manufactures seats needed to branch out and partner with someone who was able to design and manufacture a bracket that would accommodate the STÄTUS seat and the Mercedes OEM belt buckle. Our partner in crime Vivid Racing reached out to their friends at Agency Power to assist in the creation of a bracket that would solve the ever prevalent STÄTUS/ Mercedes problem.

Here’s the result of individual companies coming together to solve a mutually troubling problem. These brackets are only for Mercedes C-Class 08-13+, they are not online yet. If you’re interested in making your car official, email To see your seats before you buy them, head over and test out our state-of-the-art seat configurator. Tell us what you think of the brackets on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @thestatusracing. Check out a full pictorial install here.
