FIA-CERTIFIED RACE SEATS

what are the best racing seats for you

FIA approval is what distinguishes a quality safety seat from a generic one. As Status Racing is committed to ensuring the safety of drivers, our engineering team sought the highest level of certification.

THE GRID

Our smallest seat! This composite seat is perfect for smaller vehicles with limited space. However, this seat is still not small enough for Miata’s and S2000.

    • Fits Drivers with up to size 36″ waist comfortably
    • Higher lateral containment keeps your legs locked in place

THE CIRCUIT

This “Big boy” seat has a wider hip area that fits Drivers with up to size 42″ waist comfortably. Other features include large harness slots that allow a fresh air hose to fit through and built-in lumbar support for long trips or endurance races.

    • Fits 34-38″ comfortably but allows for MAX 42″ waist size
    • Low, tapered sides provide good containment, while making it easier to get in/out

THE TURISMO

The Turismo composite seat mixes style and comfort, with racing functionality. The Turismo features thick dual-density foam all around and built-in lumbar support for added comfort. The large harness slots on the back allow you to fit the harness, and a fresh air hose through at the same time. Wrap-around head containment prevents the driver’s head from jarring side to side on impact.

    • Wrap around Head Containment prevents the drivers head from rattling on impact
    • Fits Drivers with up to size 40″ waist comfortably

STREET SERIES SEATS

Should I opt for a reclining seat, or a fixed back?

What do you intend to do with the car? The more convenient option is obviously adjustable reclining seats, especially if your car is driven every day, or if you often have passengers in the back. For beginners who are new to racing and want to use their cars as daily drivers, adjustable seats are often the best choice.

If you’re frequently hitting the track and throwing down some aggressive lines, you might want to opt for a fixed back seat. In the event things don’t go quite as planned, these will offer you far more support and safety.

Even though we hope it never happens, it’s always a good idea to be prepared.

THE GT-X

Status puts an emphasis on style and comfort with the GT-X. Multi-density foam covers the vacuum-infused FRP composite shell’s sides and bottom.

  • Unique angled containment allows the seat to fit in smaller vehicles, while still fitting drivers up to waist size 34″
  • It fits 28″ to 32″ comfortably but allows for MAX 34″ waist size

HOW TO MEASURE FOR YOUR RACING SEATS

how to measure for new custom race seats

The seat you choose should fit the car and the driver. If you have a small car, measure the width at the shoulders and H-point, as well as the height inside the car, and compare that to the seat dimensions to make sure it fits.

Measure the width of the hips through the center line of the body side to side

Do not measure across the lap of the driver as this will give a larger than required measurement. Take this measurement as the size of the seat you need. If it is 15” then you would order a 15” seat.
